The Hershey Story: The Museum on Chocolate Avenue takes visitors on an inspirational and interactive journey through the life of Milton S. Hershey, his legacy, the chocolate company, and the town that bears his name. Within the museum is a hands-on Chocolate Lab, which takes a Chocolate-Covered February twist with new classes and events!
The following Chocolate Lab classes are suitable for adults and families with children ages 4 and up. Adults $10.00; children $7.50; combination price with Museum Experience available. Tickets sold at admissions desk on day of class on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited.

In his first business Milton Hershey sold hand-made confections in dazzling varieties. Try your hand at creating your own hand-made confections in this class. Hand-roll fillings, dip in chocolate, and customize your treats with a variety of toppings and textures.

See, smell, and touch the ingredients that are at the heart of the luscious confection that we know as chocolate. Learn the differences between milk, dark, and white chocolate, and create a “heart-ful” design with all three types.

Bring your sweetheart or best friend to the Chocolate Lab for a special experience with the confectioner’s art. Learn to make truffle filling and decorate truffles with a variety of techniques. Each participant will take home a small box of truffles. Participants must pre-register by calling 717-520-5722. Price: $35 per couple or $20 per person.

Kids, drop into this sweet workshop to create a special gift for your Valentine. We’ll provide the tools you need to craft a unique chocolate clay keepsake that will say, “I love you” for years to come. Choose your icing colors and decorating techniques. Finish off your project with some vintage Hershey Valentine’s Day artwork. Located on the lower level of The Hershey Story. $4.50 per valentine.

What do Milton Hershey, a mighty oak, love and generosity have in common? Find out at a special story time as Hershey Library’s Jackie Sisco retells "The Growing Story of Milton Hershey School," a book written for the school’s 100th birthday. The story time will take place in “Living the Vision,” a special exhibit celebrating Milton Hershey School’s Centennial. Complimentary admission.

A flavor adventure awaits! Located in Café Zooka, daily Chocolate Tasting gives visitors the chance to enjoy warm drinking chocolate samples. From fruity African chocolate flavors to Indonesian chocolate with caramel overtones, guests can hone their skills as cocoa connoisseurs, or simply enjoy a taste of indulgence from around the world. Price: $9.95 per person.
